摘要: The corrosion of concrete structures in sewage environments is a major problem some areas. phenomena leading to formation and stripping H2S are now reasonably well understood. By biol.-influenced process, the metab. thiobacilli, hydrogen sulfide converted into sulfuric acid. This acid reacts with causes deterioration. For purpose testing materials, this environment often simulated by lab. tests concd. solns. Such tests, however, do not consider bacterial aspect reality, therefore, can lead irrelevant conclusions. reliable result, interactions between living organisms their substratum essential need be taken account. task achieved use our simulation chamber for biogenic sulfuric-acid corrosion. remodeled under conditions favoring relevant microorganisms. Thus, an acceleration natural process achieved. Recent investigations conducted on calcium aluminate-based mortars bacterial-corrosion Hamburg University demonstrated these materials good resistance against attack. These results confirmed on-site observations sewer pipelines made inspected after up 35 yr service harsh environments.
