摘要: Throughout nature, self-assembly gives rise to functional supramolecular biomaterials that can perform complex tasks with extraordinary efficiency and specificity. Inspired by these examples, is increasingly used fabricate synthetic for diverse applications in biomedicine biotechnology. Peptides are particularly attractive as building blocks materials because they based on naturally derived amino acids biocompatible biodegradable; be synthesized using scalable cost-effective methods, their sequence tailored encode formation of architectures. To endow capabilities, it now commonplace conjugate self-assembling molecules having a desired property, such selective recognition cell surface receptor or soluble protein, antigenicity, enzymatic activity. This review surveys recent advances peptides handles incorporate biologically active into biomaterials. Particular emphasis placed examples nanofibers, nanovesicles, other nano-scale structures fabricated linking proteins carbohydrates. Collectively, this highlights the enormous potential approaches create sophisticated capabilities finely tuned meet needs downstream applications.
