摘要: In the framework of EU genome-sequencing programmes, complete DNA sequence yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome II (807 188 bp) has been determined. At present, this is largest eukaryotic entirely sequenced. A total 410 open reading frames (ORFs) were identified, covering 72% sequence. Similarity searches revealed that 124 ORFs (30%) correspond to genes known function, 51 (12.5%) appear be homologues whose functions are known, 52 others have which not well defined and another 33 novel putative (8%) exhibit a degree similarity insufficient confidently assign function. Of on II, 37-45% thus unpredicted Among genes, we found several related perform differentiated in multicellular organisms involved malignancy. addition compact arrangement potential protein coding sequences, analysis confirmed general patterns but also particular features chromosomal organization. Alternating regional variations average base composition correlate with local gene density along as observed chromosomes XI III. We propose functional ARS elements preferably located AT-rich regions spacing approximately 110 kb. Similarly, 13 tRNA three Ty regions. distribution sequences between two strands biased, ratio 1.3:1. An interesting aspect regarding evolution genome finding high internal genetic redundancy, amounting 16% capacity.
