摘要: SUMMARY In the Chittagong hill country, a contact zone between hill-dwelling swidden cultivators and wet-rice of plains, distinct category hillmen, represented most numerously by Chakma, Moghs, Tippera, has evolved. Their differentiation from mountain folk is inferred to be in part product long with civilization based on culture. They have acquired character peasants, without having turned peasant economy until recently. An examination conditions under which these changes taken place suggests that critical element shift plow cultivation been change balance political power region.
