摘要: Abstract Effects of age and sex, their interaction on the structural brain anatomy healthy elderly were assessed thanks to a cross-sectional study cohort 662 subjects aged from 63 75 years. T1- T2-weighted MRI scans acquired in each subject further processed using voxel-based approach that was optimized for identification cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) compartment. Analysis covariance revealed classical neuroanatomy sexual dimorphism, men exhibiting larger gray matter (GM), white (WM), CSF compartment volumes, together with WM fractions, whereas women showed GM fraction. found significantly decrease age, while volume increased. Tissue probability map analysis highest rates atrophy this range localized primary cortices, angular superior parietal gyri, orbital part prefrontal cortex, hippocampal region. There no significant between “Sex” “Age” any tissue as well maps. These findings indicate during seventh eighth decades life is ubiquitous proceeds at rate not modulated by “Sex”.
