摘要: Background: New inhaled glucocorticosteroids and inhalers are being developed. Their clinical equipotency is difficult to assess often discussed. Objective: This study was carried out compare the effect of budesonide Turbuhaler fluticasone propionate (FP) Diskhaler in a dose reduction children (ages 5 16 years) with asthma. Methods: Children treated administered through pressurized metered-dose inhaler large volume spacer had their gradually reduced define minimal effective this delivery system. After period, 217 were randomly allocated treatment half either or FP for weeks double-blind trial. If no deterioration asthma control seen, further by 50% at 5-week intervals until seen. Throughout study, morning evening peak expiratory flow, symptoms, use rescue β2-agonist recorded diaries. Lung function tests standardized exercise test performed clinic end each period. Urine cortisol excretion (24 hours) measured before after first Standardized criteria control, based on diary card variables testing, used determine patient; from this, number steps calculated. Results: No statistically significant difference seen baseline between two treatments; mean 1.59 1.65 (p=0.52), 188 μg 180 Diskhaler: these reductions, same level observed groups. Furthermore, differences inhaler-drug combinations daytime nighttime β2-agonist, lung functions clinic, exercise-induced fall function, 24-hour urinary during Conclusion: Microgram microgram, equally moderate
