摘要: Carbon is an acceptable moderator that has been used extensively in the form of graphite. It offers compromise between nuclear properties, cost, and utility as a structural material for reactor core. Gas water-cooled graphite moderated reactors have constructed experimental, production, or power generation purposes numerous countries. In support development reactors, enormous amount research conducted on effects neutron irradiation radiolytic oxidation structure properties graphites. The essential mechanisms these phenomena translated into engineering codes design practices safe design, construction operation gas-cooled reactors. Gas-cooled, several significant advantages over other designs by virtue their inherent passive safety characteristics. Increasingly, national world leaders are concerned about fossil-fueled plant gas emissions (greenhouse gases) consequences ensuing global warming. Hence, there reason to believe role may become more prominent future. Inherently (such high-temperature (HTGRs)) could play vital process regaining public acceptance power.
