摘要: Testicular torsion/detorsion causes severe tissue damage due to ischemia/reperfusion injury. The present study investigated the protective effect of erythropoietin and sildenafil against injury following unilateral testicular in adult rats. A total 28 male rats were included, divided into groups: Group (n=5), sham operated; groups B C D (n=5) E (n=8), undergoing right testis torsion detorsion after 90 min. received no drug treatment. Rats low-dose (1,000 IU/kg) or high-dose (3,000 erythropoietin, while those group (0.7 mg/kg), through intraperitoneal injection 60 min torsion. was extracted 24 h detorsion, subjected histopathological examination immunohistochemical assessment cleaved caspase-3 expression. Histological alterations quality spermatogenesis scored according Cosentino Johnsen scoring systems, respectively. results demonstrated normal architecture A, other showed ischemic cellular damages, with worst scores observed B. Groups presented better compared C. Regarding spermatogenesis, best C, similar results, which improved comparison B, however, not A. Furthermore, levels lower E, equal observed. had higher these groups, but than highest levels. In conclusion, protect from by decreasing attenuating apoptosis.
