摘要: Temporal variability is a hallmark of ecological communities. Variable species dynamics imply that certain limnological events will not be predictable (Edmondson 1979) and the predictability systems may have inherent limits (Paine 1981). Because temporal impedes prediction, it source frustration for ecologists resource managers. However, there are hopeful signs approaches to yield new insights about community organization allow more successful management natural resources. I offer three illustrations this point.
