Synthesis of (meth)acrylate Block Copolymers by Ligated Anionic Polymerization

摘要: Synthetic potential of the ligated anionic polymerization (LAP) acrylic and metacrylic esters initiated with methyl 2-lithioisobutyrate (MIB-Li) in presence an excess alkali metal tert-alkoxides (prevailingly Li tert-butoxide) is presented. tert-Alkoxides form ester-enolates, like MIB-Li, cross-aggregates various composition, which tailor environment growing chain-ends, lower their nucleophilicity restrict this way extent side reactions, particular self-termination macroanions by back-biting reaction. Thus, stability polymethacrylate living chains sufficiently high for methacrylate acrylate block copolymers to be synthesized. In case polymerization, reaction conditions must optimized due tendency self-termination.
