摘要: In this study, strains that are capable of bioaccumulating Cr(VI) were isolated from treated tannery effluent a common treatment plant. The concentration in was 0.96 mg/l, much above the statutory limit 0.1 mg/l for discharge industrial effluents into inland surface waters India. addition to bioaccumulation, biosorption capabilities living and dead cells analysed. Two strains, identified as Bacillus circulans megaterium able bioaccumulate 34.5 32.0 mg Cr/g dry weight, respectively brought residual permissible 24 h when initial 50 Cr(VI)/l. Our experimental design accounts well final heavy metal while selecting accumulating during batch studies. Biosorption shown by B. an another strain, coagulans. Living coagulans biosorbed 23.8 39.9 respectively, whereas, 15.7 30.7 weight megaterium, respectively. higher than cells. This due prior pH conditioning (pH 2.5 with deionized water acidified H2SO4)
