摘要: Abstract Measurements are reported on nitrogen concentrations required to prevent downward propagation of hydrogen oxygen and methane flames in open tubes 2.5 5.1 cm diameter. Limits plotted as functions the fuel ratio show that quenching is most difficult fuel-lean side for near stoichiometric flames. Cellular patterns were observed flammability limits, near-limit flame speeds measured. Results interpreted mainly terms conductive losses from cellular since alternative mechanisms appear produce qualitatively inconsistent predictions.
