摘要: In a series of 22 eyes 19 squirrel monkeys, the central retinal artery (CRA) was ligated within orbit. Serial fundus photography and fluorescein angiography demonstrated that this experimental model closely resembled human disease. Histologically, there massive swelling inner layers followed by necrosis. Fine-structurally, CRA occlusion produced mitochondrial in neurons 15 minutes. This endoplasmic reticulum cell cytoplasm. By 3½ hours clumping nuclear chromatin rupture cytoplasmic membranes. After 16 autolysis all cells vitread to outer layer far advanced. Muller cytoplasm relatively resistant ischemia early stages but not later stages. The photoreceptor were spared.
