摘要: Cigarette consumption as well the physiologic, performance and subjective effects of nicotine patch were evaluated in ten subjects who smoked ad libitum while residing on a residential research ward for 30 days. Nicotine transdermal systems (“patches”) delivering total 0, 22 or 44 mg per 24 h applied daily at constant dose during each 7-day condition; order dosing conditions was varied according to randomized, double-blind, crossover design. patches significantly but modestly reduced spontaneous smoking increased venous plasma levels. Self ratings liking, satisfaction with cigarettes ability identify condition did not change function dose, indicating minimal abuse liability. There no consistent changes puffing pattern measures; however, all conditions, extensive histories illicit drug use faster than occasional use. Small resting heart rate, pulse blood pressure occurred when worn. Thus large levels engender only modest cigarette consumption, measures liability cardiovascular effects. These findings are notion that addictive toxic partially determined by rate administration.
