Using HI to Probe AGN Hosts and Their Nuclei

摘要: The λ21-cm neutral hydrogen (HI) spectral line is a valuable probe of the distribution and kinematics gas in AGN hosts. I present results which cover wide range size-scales physical processes. These include interactions on scales 100 kpc, inflow along galactic bar 10 kpc evidence circumnuclear torus 10–100 pc. studies triggering/fuelling chain nearby hosts indicate potential for similar more distant such as quasars, given instruments proposed square kilometre array.
