Preventing thermally induced fracture of cathode ray tube bulbs by application of a thermal insulator

摘要: Method for reducing the likelihood of cathode ray tube glass bulb and component fracture caused by temperature cycling in manufacturing process. Temperature gradients between exterior surfaces interior, arising during cooling, are locally reduced. In a preferred embodiment, thermal insulator is applied prior to areas especially low tensile strength order reduce rate surface cooling thus coolinginduced forces.
