摘要: Summary In this study, the vertical transmission of reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV) in chickens was examined using 6‐month‐old birds with viraemia which had persisted since birth. Eggs collected from such hens were incubated within 24 hours lay and it found that 18 35 progeny infected REV. Seventeen died before they 28 days age, due to a nervous syndrome. Some eggs laid by viraemic stored at room temperature between 1 10 then incubated. Hatched up 4 infected. Hens free REV, but inseminated roosters persistent seroconverted A small proportion hatched (2/24) Embryos better source for isolation than albumen samples.
