摘要: The paper discusses the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in aspects marine environmental research, as approached by Russian and Greek groups. scientific teams apply same GIS platform both cases, but with a different orientation, according to particular driving forces projects involved. In general, team manipulates subsystem problem-oriented applications order enlarge possibilities run non-standard user programs. (POA) is designed for following: (1) analysis data information implement applied tasks; (2) preparation output products system form hard electronic copies accordance required formats; (3) dissemination users requirements. group focuses on tool joining layers spatial area under investigation. Also, incorporated drainage basin that supplies water, sediment load also human derived substances. Layers hypsometry, bathymetry, hydrography, river network, roads, cities, satellite images etc., have been introduced into system, obtaining significant feedback information. there are developed relations former sampling stations network database describes station's properties. two groups benefit particularly exchange ideas methods, consideration undertaken resolve research issues.
