摘要: The first detailed ultrastructural study of a superficial desmoplastic cerebral astrocytoma infancy is reported. This neoplasm which mimics mesenchymal tumor, originally described in 1984 under the name "superficial attached to dura." believed have good prognosis, was resected from frontoparietal region 6.5-month-old girl, whom it had presented as large densely enhancing vascular and cystic mass. ultrastructure tumor appeared be distinctive, characterized by absence neuronal elements, presence amounts redundant sometimes extensively duplicated basal laminal material collagen between nonpleomorphic nonlipidized astrocytes, corresponding reticulin fibers seen light microscopic analysis S-100 protein glial fibrillary acidic (GFAP)-positive cells. features its differential diagnosis, relationship other pediatric supratentorial tumors are discussed.
