摘要: Sensitive X-ray information is presented for about 90 previously uncataloged high-redshift, optically selected QSOs. Two high-redshift subsets of this larger data base are emphasized: (1) a 'complete' sample 37 objects with z = 1.8 - 3.0, and B 19.5 or less (2) 78 QSOs that span narrow range in redshift optical luminosity. From the complete sample, it inferred such contribute than 3 percent to diffuse background (XRB), contribution all XRB 21 + 8 percent. For found mean luminosity ratio characterized by alpha(eff)ox 1.50 0.03. A variety new, model-independent, empirical evidence primary dependence alpha(ox) on rather redshift. It concluded can supply as much 70 XRB, typical contributor moderate QSO roughly 19-21.
