摘要: Previous research consistently finds that racially based residential segregation is associated with poor economic, health, and social outcomes. The purpose of this paper to explore the relationship between self-reported happiness. Using panel data from National Survey Families Households (NSFH), we begin by estimating ordinary least squares (OLS) regressions happiness on a measure MSA-level segregation, controlling for rich set individual, neighborhood, regional, state characteristics. OLS results suggest increased reduction in among blacks. To deal more appropriately potential endogeneity location choice, extend methodology fully exploit structure NSFH incorporate individual fixed effects into equation.
