摘要: This study is part of a larger research investigation perfectionism in gifted college students. Employing qualitative interview design, this examined factors contributing to the development two dimensions perfectionism, socially prescribed and self-oriented, Findings indicated that exposure parental an authoritarian parenting style led perception stringent expectations, self-worth tied achievement, fear disappointing others, which collectively influenced perfectionism. Factors self-oriented perfection included mastery early academic experiences without effort, no previous experience with failure, modeling Implications for future recommendations parents educators children are suggested.
