摘要: Background: A broader understanding of the immune inflammatory profile peri-implant diseases could be helpful in development host-targeted preventive and therapeutic strategies. The aim this study is to answer two clinical questions: 1) whether patients with peri-implantitis (PP) present higher prevalence any specific cytokine crevicular fluid (PICF) compared healthy patients; 2) local inflammation measured PICF can used as a predictor for incipient PP. Methods: systematic review literature on most common cytokines released PPaffected sites was conducted from 1996 up including October 2013 using predefined search Cross-sectional prospective longitudinal studies were considered. Metaanalyses done separately healthy, mucositis (MU), PP outcomes. Results: Interleukin (IL)-1b studied (n = 12), followed by tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-a 10). Other also linked PP, such IL-4, IL-6, IL8, IL-10, IL-12, IL-17. Statistical differences revealed when IL-1b release between implant (P 0.001) or MU 0.002), respectively; compared, no statistical detected 0.80). For TNF-a release, significant found implants 0.02). Conclusions: containing mediators, TNF-a, additional criteria more robust diagnosis infection. Additionally, once process installed, JP eriodontol 2015;86:631-645.
