摘要: [1] This paper presents a framework for studying regional water balance in which the physical processes are first described at local instantaneous scale and then integrated to annual, basin-wide scale. The integration treats relative soil saturation (i.e., moisture divided by porosity) precipitation intensities as stochastic variables space time. A statistical equilibrium characterizes annual balance, resulting specific relation that predicts space-time average of terms soil, climate, vegetation parameters. Specific relationships proposed relate runoff, groundwater recharge, evapotranspiration. is applied Illinois River Basin. shape spatial temporal distributions determined from observations. other parameters characteristics basin calibration procedures. model able reproduce an observed between precipitation. It also relations evapotranspiration, surface runoff.
