摘要: To quantify the effect of hand-hygiene interventions on rates gastrointestinal and respiratory illnesses to identify that provide greatest efficacy, we searched 4 electronic databases for trials published from January 1960 through May 2007 conducted meta-analyses generate pooled rate ratios across (N=30 studies). Improvements in hand hygiene resulted reductions illness 31% (95% confidence intervals [CI]=19%, 42%) 21% CI = 5%, 34%). The most beneficial intervention was education with use nonantibacterial soap. Use antibacterial soap showed little added benefit compared Hand is clearly effective against and, a lesser extent, infections. Studies examining practices during targeting aerosol transmission are needed. (Am J Public Health. 2008;98:1372‐1381. doi:10.2105/AJPH.2007.124610)
