摘要: As islet cell transplantation gains increasing interest following results published by the Edmonton group, that have been successfully reproduced several centers nationwide and abroad, need of guidelines to standardize procedure becomes highly important. We detail key steps infusion utilizing a closed gravity fed bag system utilized at our institution since 1990, which consists 600-ml transfer 150-ml rinse connected via sterile tubing. The use allows for control rate as well providing safety mechanism through natural reduction flow parallels any increase in portal pressure, therefore allowing operator prevent precipitous pressure rises. Reports on significant rise pressures during vein thrombosis published. Infusion these was carried out using syringe method. Using technique, (partial or complete) not detected infusions performed institution. This method may be assistance minimize some observed complications associated with transplant procedures has now adapted most performing clinical transplantation.
