摘要: This project discusses the feasibility and effectiveness of emergency measures against river floods. The objective is: To develop a method or system to temporarily increase dike strength during flood wave conditions. Here, in its broadest sense is meant. means that besides crest height also other properties are considered. Generally, designed with respect certain normative water level. protection level herewith based on overtopping overflowing mechanism. Besides mechanisms, especially piping, could contribute failure. further focuses these two failure mechanisms. proposed measure traditional temporary heightening. piping creation berm at inner side dike. latter decreases head difference between land by inundation an area behind Both make use some sort retaining system. A very suitable for this purpose water-filled tube type since it has good performance aspects costs, deployment, stability applicability. consists parallel tubes connected one point. Because become problem when placed permeable subsoil, standard twin design adapted adding sealing sheet front length. Finally reliability assessed examining different modes. Especially logistic discussed. gives first rough indication possible scale application.
