Fish trait diversity in littorals of two floodplain lakes of the highly biodiverse Caura River, Venezuela

摘要: We studied the trait diversity and structure in fish communities of two floodplain lakes Caura River: Aricagua Paramuto, during one hydrological cycle. calculated taxonomic a functional alpha beta diversities made comparisons among seasons habitats within each lake based on rarefactions. The was explored with an RLQ (analysis table R environmental conditions, L abundances species Q traits) analysis, pairwise relationships between variables traits were fourth-corner analyses. Despite its smaller extension, Paramuto showed higher diversities. substrates open sand those covered by leaf litter most diverse terms both traits. influenced seasons, as well water pH temperature, lesser degree dissolved oxygen, habitat type total solids water. These factors constitute templet for community's composition structure.
