摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the involvement of Catecholamine (CA)-containing neurons and terminals that occur in discrete regions anterior hypothalamus median-eminence arcuate areas. These include tuberoinfundibular-dopamine neurons, strategically located nucleus with fiber systems extending to median eminence, afferent noradrenaline (NA) nerve preoptic area ascend from cell bodies mid-brain. Two opposing views exist regarding specific role dopamine (DA) controlling release gonadotrophins. The steroid hormones regulating hypothalamic activity is well recognized. A direct interaction ovarian steroids catecholaminergic neuronal system has not yet been clearly elucidated. Estrogens play a predominant maintaining estrous cycle rats. Administration progesterone or estradiol estrogen-pretreated spayed rats stimulated dramatic increase levels luteinizing hormone (LH) follicle-stimulating (FSH). nature catecholamines mediating transmission these stimulatory effects investigated.
