摘要: In 1941 Fuller Albright described a group of 42 patients with osteoporosis; the subjects in his report all but five were postmenopausal women1. Since those thyrotoxic, and hence had perfectly adequate explanation for their osteoporosis any case, this observation led to suggestion that menopause might be an important risk factor osteoporosis. Subsequent observations by same confirmed these results correct, there is accelerated rate bone loss after normal, as well osteoporotic, women2. The very rapid nature means it one most determinants mass woman, major increased fracture seen such women. Clearly, understanding mechanisms which oestrogen acts upon great benefit planning appropriate therapeutic regimens reduce loss, incidence. Unfortunately, until recently has been no consensus mechanism, even now many doubts its true remain. This chapter seeks review effects brought about.
