摘要: Genes within the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) are critical to immune response and immunoregulation. Comparative studies have revealed that MHC has undergone many changes throughout evolution yet in tetrapods three different classes of genes maintained linkage, suggesting there may be some functional advantage obtained by maintaining this clustering genes. Here we present data showing class II III genes, antigen processing gene TAP2, framework found together tammar wallaby on chromosome 2. Surprisingly I loci were not 2 but mapped ten locations spread across six chromosomes. This distribution nearly all autosomes is a characteristic marsupials relatively recent phenomenon. It highlights need for inclusion more than one marsupial species comparative raises questions regarding significance
