Information literacy skills in the workplace: a study of police officers

摘要: Information literacy has become more important as information is produced and communication easier. Better skills are vital for individuals working in governmental organizations well the business sector. Employees expected to be confident competent interacting with their workplaces order deliver better service customers public. This study examines differences (ILS), computer (CLS), frequencies of use sources (FIS) among police officers, based on socio-demographic characteristics, namely education, departmental affiliation, ranks, experience. Information process models developed an educational environment combined explore workplace. Bivariate multivariate analyses indicated significant ILS CLS ranks but no difference In addition, there were FIS all demographic variables except affiliation. The findings may guide both future researchers developing new understanding managers planning training programs by considering officers.
