摘要: Abstract This paper deals with the study of combustion properties dimeric and oligomeric Al-and Zn-isobutyl silsesquioxane (POSS)/polypropylene (PP) composites, in comparison neat PP PP/octaisobutyl POSS. The presence Al-POSS leads to a decrease rate respect PP, resulting Heat Release Rate (−43% at 10 wt% POSS loading) as well reduction CO CO2 production rates, whereas negative effect on above parameters is obtained octaisobutyl Zn-POSS does not significantly affect behaviour. most likely related its chemical activity, which favours formation moderate amount char residue, by catalysing secondary reactions polymer during combustion.
