摘要: The question of 'R&D specialisation' has emerged as an issue debate on the research policy agenda. But what is this and why should we bother with it? boils down to whether, for any given geographical-political entity, there are benefits having R&D efforts concentrated (or specialised) in a limited number thematic areas and, if so, whether (a) public funding focus these accordingly (b) corporate investment be steered towards through structural changes economy (and how achieve this).
