Will tourists pay for a healthy environment? Assessing visitors’ perceptions and willingness to pay for conservation and preservation in the island of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

摘要: This paper seeks to profile the views and characteristics of travellers Koh Phi Phi, an island in southwestern Thailand. The is facing many issues environmental social degradation as a result tourism related over-development. Using individual surveys, visitors were probed determine their attitudes towards sustainability potential willingness pay preserve its environment. study concludes that are prepared take responsibility help prevent further island. majority believe tourists should be key stakeholder preservation protection willing additional tax for this purpose.
