Rifampicin in treatment of experimental tuberculosis in mice

摘要: Abstract Groups of mice were infected intravenously with M. tuberculosis and treated rifampicin (40 mg./kg.) alone, isoniazid (25 alone or both drugs together. Neither nor given daily for 12 weeks reduced the populations tubercle bacilli in lungs spleen below detectable levels all animals, whether treatment was started immediately delayed three weeks. On other hand, when together same period but one 30 animals appeared to be sterilized bacilli. When 40 mg./kg. 120 twice weekly four months no could recovered from 10 each group.
