Biosynthesis of Acetylcholine in Turtle Photoreceptors

摘要: Abstract For determination of possible neurotransmitters synthesized by photoreceptor cells, turtle retinas were dissociated into single cells with proteolytic enzymes. These partially separated velocity sedimentation to yield a fraction rich in photoreceptors. Individual then sucked micropipette and incubated labeled precursors known or suspected neurotransmitters. After incubation, the radioactive products analyzed high-voltage electrophoresis. Of all chemicals tested, only acetylcholine, suggesting that these may be cholinergic.
