摘要: • Eliminating opportunity for visual fixation as well providing the maintenance of an optimal degree a patient's mental alertness are necessary valid assessment nystagmic response to caloric stimulation. Controlling only can result in suppressed, absent, or dysrhythmic nystagmus. Data from four normal patients dramatically illustrate suppressing effects despite alert state. A new clinical instrument obtaining control over influences is described. (Arch Otolaryngol103:287-291, 1977)
