摘要: A study to determine the growth and development of B. dorsalis reared on sweet potatoes-based artificial diet ( Ipomoea batatas L.) was conducted under laboratory conditions. Four types diets used were; orange potato (OSP), purple (PSP), white (WSP) wheat germ (WG) as a standard diet. Biological parameters recorded number pupae, pupae weight (mg), adult survival (%), emergences, developmental time from eggs adults’ stage (day), longevity (day). Results showed that among tested, WG based displayed significant difference (P 0.05) shown pupa between WG, OSP, WSP Adult also no (P>0.05) all diets. Based results obtained, potatoes good germ-based potential main new source for mass rearing especially in biological control program fruit flies.
