摘要: Abstract Polyethersulfone (PESf) asymmetric hollow fiber membranes with excellent gas separation properties were fabricated from spinning solutions containing PESf, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and water. Water was also used as the external coagulant. The internal coagulants include water, ethanol, 2-propanol, mixtures of ethanol/water 2-propanol/water. tailored to be close point phase by introduction influence water a non-solvent additive (NSA) on polymer solution, membrane structures examined. characterized permeation measurements scanning electron microscopy. effects various conditions including concentration, length air gap, strength coagulant post-treatment, resulting fibers investigated. viscosity dramatically increased presence an NSA. Ultra-thin skinned PESf apparent skin layer thickness around 420–600 A determined flux prepared under suitable conditions. After silicone coating repair surface defects, these exhibited selectivity higher than that dense film. observed permeance are those spun NMP/alcohols NMP/propionic acid solvent systems reported in literature. use moderate has been shown improve integrity suppress macrovoid formation.
