摘要: We empirically test the cross-sectional relationship between hiring discrimination and labor market tightness at level of occupation. To this end, we conduct a correspondence in youth market. In line with theoretical expectations, find that, compared to natives, candidates foreign sounding name are equally often invited job interview if they apply for occupations which vacancies difficult fill, but have send twice as many applications is low. Our findings robust various sensitivity checks.
