摘要: 1. Like virtually all other physiological control systems, the sympathetic nervous system controlling cardiovascular function is characterized by presence of rhythmic activity. Despite prevalence rhythms, their often not obvious, which leads to question, what can one learn about neural autonomic studying rhythms? 2. Sympathetic nerve discharge (SND) a mixture periodicities ranging between approximately 0.04 and 10 Hz, depending on conditions, type being analysed species. The present article illustrates why frequency domain (power density spectral) analysis more suitable than time (autocorrelation) quantify complex signal (i.e. with multiple components) such as SND. 3. entertains possibilities that activity may lead effective activation neurons randomly occurring activity, rhythmicity important for coordinating in different nerves formulating response patterns help maintain homeostasis.
