摘要: This chapter will specifically consider whether endothelial dysfunction can explain why, both in type 1 and 2 diabetes, the presence of microalbuminuria or clinical proteinuria is associated with a very high risk developing severe vascular complications, i.e. proliferative retinopathy, renal insufficiency, cardiovascular disease, as reviewed elsewhere [1]. It also discuss at what stage diabetes becomes manifest well its potential causes.
