摘要: Publisher Summary The ability to fly is the most significant of functional characteristics that distinguish insects from other classes Arthropoda. The effector machinery for flight in differs evolved by flying vertebrates wings are not modifications existing appendages. Insects have retained capacity walking possessed their arthropod ancestors, being an additional form locomotion. From physiological point view, this means a new neuromuscular as well skeletal system superimposed on required walking, although contained same segments body. In some (in general, more primitive orders), each wing beat initiated synchronous volley nerve impulses power-producing muscles; others, motor nerves supplying main muscles asynchronous with beats and rhythm generated themselves coupled mechanical thorax.
