摘要: Control of arterial blood pressure at near-normal levels is importance for the prognosis patients with Type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus. In non-diabetic populations patient compliance to antihypertensive therapy frequently poor, especially in young people. Thirty-seven consecutive eligible longstanding and persistently uncontrolled hypertension were questioned about their preferences regarding treatment. Throughout they expressed a strong desire more information active participation monitoring therapeutic decision-making. addition, showed considerable reluctance accept pharmacological intervention. Therefore, order improve control, participated structured outpatient treatment teaching programme groups 6 consisting four sessions weekly intervals. The comprised home-monitoring involvement 34 who had complete follow-up examination after an average 16 months, mean sitting decreased from 111 101 mmHg (p less than 0.001) 53% below 140/90 mmHg. number dosage prescribed agents remained unchanged by Sodium intake was not reduced during study, but pulse rate significantly treated beta-adrenergic blockers serum uric acid rose on diuretic therapy, suggesting increased adherence drug therapy. comparable diabetic subjected 12-month period.
