摘要: Abstract A clinical-radiologic-histologic review of twenty-two cases fibrous dysplasia involving the jaws is presented. The lesions showed a 13:9 predilection for maxilla and frequently involved maxillary sinus, orbital floor, zygoma. discase tends to appear early in life. Ten were diagnosed first or second decades. In three additional patients probable onset was decade. None this study had apparent extracranial dysplasia. Clinically, painless asymmetry only significant finding. Histologically, about one half “classic” features metaplastic woven bone stroma. remaining variable amounts lamellar bone. presence not considered incompatible with diagnosis jaws. relation osteoma discussed. Most so-called “fibrous osteomas” should be as examples
