摘要: :  Regulation of river flows can result in decreased stage fluctuations and alteration inundation patterns floodplain wetlands. However, has historically not been addressed most minimum flow determinations. Florida law requires the water management districts state to establish levels protect bodies from significant harm associated with withdrawals. The Southwest Water Management District utilizes a 15% reduction habitat criterion as threshold for defining freshwater segments rivers. Utilizing multi-parameter approach different measures seasonal periods, recommended compliance standards Alafia, Myakka middle Peace For high-flow period, utilized number days (a temporal loss) threshold. This yielded allowable reductions 8% Alafia rivers during season 7% natural on River. Comparison changes spatial loss thresholds indicated that required effect are higher than those would yield loss. indicates respect protection, District’s consideration establishing periods is more conservative use criterion.
