摘要: Abstract Functional and morphological changes in hepatocytes, indicating induction of the drug metabolizing enzymes free radical-mediated damage, were found 4 patients with idiopathic chronic pancreatitis. The possibility that reflux abnormal bile (rich lipid peroxidation other products generated through hepatic metabolism xenobiotics) into pancreatic duct may initiate damage was negated when ligation diversion did not abolish attacks pancreatitis 3 cases, although evidence indisputable 1 them who also had a pancreatoduodenectomy. Pancreatic acinar cells from patient showed extensive microvesiculation, as hepatocytes each case. These observations suggest liver proceed independently but by same mechanism—heightened, unmitigated, oxidative detoxification xenobiotics cytochromes P450. Therefore, is prerequisite, it could compound injury head gland. Antioxidants prescribed to cases mentioned and, outset, fourth changes. This unconventional approach has held at bay during follow-up period 5 yr.
