摘要: Spatiotemporal variation in the wind-generated dispersion pattern of Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis) seeds was examined by placing seed traps up to 110 m away from a small, isolated stand Israel during six successive dispersal seasons. Subsequent re- cruitment surveyed two years later. Of 5487 seeds, 97% were trapped #20 nearest adult tree. Seasonal curves consistently right-skewed and lep- tokurtic. The inverse power law negative exponential model accounted for similar fraction number dispersed at different distances (79-86% 76-88%, respectively). Seed rates varied significantly among Eighty saplings (3-5 yr old) became established three study, most within 15 canopy, some farther away, none directly under tree canopies. estimated probability survival sapling stage increased with increasing distance adults, as predicted escape hypothesis. Winds between seasons, generating significant interseasonal deposition patterns far from, but not near to, trees. Coefficients lower trees than away. Both Moran's I correlograms partial Mantel tests revealed consistency total study area showed considerable We suggest that low spatiotemporal adults high act intensify effects predation (by efficiency predators reducing it away) competition intensity seedling structuring observed survivorship curve
