Effect of transition metal oxides on mullite whisker formation from mechanochemically activated powders

摘要: The effect of transition metal oxides, including FeO1.5, CoO and NiO, on the phase formation morphology development mullite (3Al2O3·2SiO2) whiskers from oxide mixtures activated by high-energy ball milling process, were investigated. With addition temperature was almost same as that required for system Al2O3 SiO2 without doping, while presence NiO inhibited mullitization. oxides could be explained in terms mullitization mechanism. size CoO-doped samples larger than doped with FeO1.5 NiO. present result showed dimension altered through oxides.
